Kit
Each rowing club has their own specific rowing colours. Salford University sports teams wear blue and gold. Rowing kit is something each rower is very proud of and collects as much of it as they can. The kit that we wear for actually rowing in is very technical and is usually made out of Lycra. This is to make sure that no item of clothing gets caught in a moving part on the boat and thus not disturbing the crew during a race situation.
If you are a fresher and haven’t ordered kit yet, you will need the following clothes to train in: T-shirts, shorts, tracksuit bottoms, jumpers, jackets are all fine, if it’s a water proof jacket that’s even better. Also make sure you bring a change of clothes because if it rains you’ll get wet!
